ZOO

Zoo is a 2005 Japanese collection of psychological drama/horror short films. The movie comprises five unrelated stories, all based on Otsuichi's short story collection. It stars Patrick Harlan, Yui Ichikawa, Ryûnosuke Kamiki, Ryôko Kobayashi, Miyuki Matsuda, and Sakamatsu Mei.

Kazari and Yoko directed by Ryu Kaneda.
In this first short film, the mother of identical twin sisters, Kazari and Yoko, seems to love only one of her daughters, while abusing and mistreating the other. But one day, when the abused girl decides to break free, things take a shocking and unexpected turn.

Seven Rooms directed by Masaki Adachi.
The second short film tells the story of a young boy and his older sister who find themselves trapped in a small, concrete vault-like room. Soon, they discover that there are seven rooms in all, and each of them has a different female prisoner. As the boy manages to talk to the rest of the prisoners, they find out that on the sixth day of their captivity, each and everyone of them will be massacred. It will be up to the boy and his sister to get out of this place alive and try and save the others.

S.O-Far directed by Komiya Masatetsu.
After what seems to be a tragic traffic accident, a young boy's father is convinced that his mother is dead. But paradoxically, the mother is alive and seems to be convinced that her husband is the one who is dead. The boy is the only person that both father and mother can see, and will be the only one capable of solving such a mystery.

When the Sun Shines (a.k.a Poem Of The Gathering Sunlight) directed by Junpei Mizusaki.
This, the fourth short film, is the only CG animation in the entire film. It is about a lonely man who, while learning about life and death in a world where most of humanity has already died out, decides to develop a female android companion. The man hopes that she will ease some of the loneliness he has felt for many years.

Zoo directed by Hiroshi Ando.
The fifth short film tells about a man who after being ditched by his girlfriend, decides to kill her at an abandoned zoo. The psychotic man, then decides to take pictures of her dead decomposing body everyday.
