DOPPELGÄNGER

Doppelgänger is a 2003 Japanese thriller directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, and starring Koji Yakusho and Hiromi Nagasaku.

Hayasaki is a devoted scientist who is working on an "intelligent" chair designed to help disabled people; he is a quiet, hard-worker man who spends most of his time working but still cannot get what he wants; but his main problem is no having the courage to speak out in his current job. All of a sudden, his whole existence is turned upside down by the appearance of his doppelgänger, a man who is physically identical to him, although psychologically quite the opposite. 

DISBELIEF HELL

Disbelief Hell (a.k.a. Possessed; a.k.a. Living Death) is a South Korean thriller|drama film directed by Yong-Joo Lee, and starring Shim Eun-kyung, Young-nam Jang and Bo-yeon Kim.

Right after 13-year-old So-Jin disappears, her older sister Hee-Jin receives a call from her mom asking her to return to the apartment. As soon as she arrives, she is received by their religious mother who seems to be acting a little strange. Soon after, Hee-jin meets with Tae-Hwan, a cop, who reluctantly has to take the case of the girl's disappearance. At first he thinks it's not a serious case, but when he is confronted with more and more suicides that seem difficult to explain rationally, he becomes completely involved in the occurrences. At the end, everybody seems to have a strong connection with the So-jin's disappearance and it appears that each of the witnesses holds a piece of this weird puzzle.

PAKU KUNTILANAK

Paku Kuntilanak is a 2009 Indonesian black comedy/horror movie directed by Findo Purwono HW, and starring Dewi Perssik, Heather Storm, Keith Foo, Kiwil, Rizky Mocil, Hardi Fadhillah, Edi Brokoli, Nani Widjaja, and, Bolot.

Three corpse hunters are assigned to search for a demon that has apparently reincarnated after having her head nail removed. However, after the hunters' boss falls in love with a pretty girl, the three of them, and the secretary try to convince him that his girlfriend, Kunti, is in deed the reincarnated kuntilanak that is seeking revenge on the people who have done her wrong in the past.

DARAH PERAWAN BULAN MADU

Darah Perawan Bulan Madu is a 2009 Indonesian horror film  directed by Hartawan Triguna, and starring Indah Kalalo, Restu Sinaga, and Adelia Rasya.

Newlywed couple Putra and Amira decide they will have the best honeymoon experience at his private island. However, since the very first moment the arrive on the island, strange ghastly phenomena begin to haunt them. Soon, a terrible dark secret is about to be revealed, and everything will go from romantic nights to a race for survival.

DEATH BELL 2

Death Bell 2 is a 2010 South Korean horror film directed by Seon-dong Yu, and starring Jeong-eum Hwang, Su-ro Kim and Hyeon-sang Kwon. The film is a sequel, although in name only, to the 2008 film Death Bell.

Two years after a student is found dead by the swimming pool, her step-sister is still haunted by nightmares and terrible visions. During summer some elite students are selected to participate in a program inside the school to take college-like courses. But the first night, the swimming trainer is murdered in the showers and a mysterious voice warns the students that they will all be killed. The only condition to survive is if they can answer who the murderer is and his/her motives.

RUMAH DARA

Rumah Dara (a.k.a. Darah, Macabre) is a 2010 Indonesian horror film directed by Kimo Stamboel, and Timo Tjahjanto, and starring Julie Estelle, Ario Bayu, Shareefa Daanish, and Arifin Putra.
On their way to the airport, a group of friends encounter a young girl who just got robbed. After asking her where she leaves, the group decide to take the girl to her house which is seemingly in the friends way to Jakarta's airport. Upon arriving in the girl's house, the group feel that there is something weird going on in the house. Later, they meet with the girl's mom and brother and she convinces the group to stay for dinner; however, what they least suspect is that the family have a special surprise for all of them after dinner.

HAUNTED UNIVERSITIES

Haunted Universities is a 2009 Thai horror film directed by Bunjong Sinthanamongkolkul and Sutthiporn Tubtim, and starring Atis Amornwetch, Pantila Fuglin, Panward Hemmanee, and Prinya Ngamwongwarn.

The film is an anthology of horror stories set around university campuses or that supposedly happened to university students in different contexts. In the main story, Muay, a college student, decides to work as a volunteer for a forensic foundation based in Bangkok. Her job consists in dealing with corpses throughout the night. As her first night goes one, she finds herself involved in some scary urban legends.

*In the first story, four people entered a university at night and discover that one of the girls' bathroom located on the fifth floor has a shrine. One of them tells that it has always been possessed by the ghost of a student who committed suicide on that bathroom before. Now, the four of them have to somehow manage to get out of there alive.

*In the second story, a strange red elevator inside a university seems to be haunting Noknoi, one of the students. Whenever she uses the elevator, she becomes overwhelmed by strange visions of blood and ghosts. However, as the story goes on, she discovers that her mission is to end with the haunting and give peace to the spirits within it.

*The third story tells about, a medical student named Prasert who must learn how to deal with dead corpses as part of his medicine studies. For such endeavor, he has to stay inside a morgue day and night. To make things even worse, his friend Jok accompany him but with the cruel intention of constantly playing pranks on him.

*Finally, in the fourth story, Saa meets a stranger guy using her webcam chat. As they maintain a seemingly playful conversation, the guy feels insulted and threatens to murder her. Later on, while eating outside, Saa meets up with the guy in real life, and at first, he appears to be friendly even saving her from some weird bikers. After the man offers to take her home, every thing becomes very strange and it seems that Saa's life is in constant jeopardy.

MAG-INGAT KA SA... KULAM

Mag-ingat Ka Sa... Kulam is a 2008 Filipino horror film directed by Jun Lana, and starring Judy Ann Santos, Dennis Trillo, and Kris Bernal.

Right after surviving a car accident, Mira awakens in a hospital suffering from amnesia. As she regains pieces of her life with her husband and blind daughter, she starts to be haunted by a creepy-looking woman dressed in white. The situation becomes even more weird as she discovers she has a mentally unstable sister. Desperate to find the truth about her and her life before the accident, Mira is forced to confront evil spirits and herself in order to discover the real story.

PARADISE VILLA

Paradise Villa is a 2001 South Korean drama|horror film directed by Chong-won Park, and starring Han-jun Jo, You-Mi Ha, and Seung-chae Lee.

The film focuses on a day in the lives of the inhabitants of an apartment building in suburban Seoul. During this day, people are gathered in their homes to watch the soccer match between South Korea and Japan. However, while everybody is enjoying the game, an online gamer who seems to have just lost his mind is in the premises in quest for a powerful weapon he needs to finish his game. Somehow the lines between the virtual and real world are gone, and the man thinks the weapon is located somewhere within Paradise Villa, and is owned by a man nicknamed "Viagra". The crazy gamer begins to kill what his mind is recognizing as his enemies, innocent apartment tenants who are violently murdered one by one.

STACY: ATTACK OF THE SCHOOLGIRL ZOMBIES

Stacy: Attack Of The Schoolgirl Zombies is a 2001 Japanese black comedy|zombie film directed by Naoyuki Tomomatsu, and starring Natsuki Kato, Toshinori Omi, Tomoka Hayashi, Yasutaka Tsutsui, and Hinako Saeki.

"Stacys" are young adolescent girls who, after dying during an extreme happiness outbreak, come back to life and become flesh-eating zombies. However, as opposed to many other films in the genre, the girls don't seem to be able to contaminate others by biting them. Because of this course on humanity, the world's population has been decreasing and so has the birth rate. One girl, named Eiko, decides to find herself someone who can commit to killing her right after she turns into a zombie. So, after she meets Shibukawa, everything goes from carnage to romance.

KICHIKU DAI ENKAI

Kichiku Dai Enkai is a 1997 Japanese drama|splatter film written and directed by Kazuyoshi Kumakiri, and starring Shigeru Bokuda, Toshiyuki Sugihara, Sumiko Mikami, and Shunsuke Sawada.

The film is about a group of gangsters who, while waiting for their leader Aizawa to be released from prison, go out of control. The group is left under the orders of Aizaw's girlfriend whose promiscuity makes him go crazy in jail and ultimately commits suicide. The band then begins to be torn apart by constant quarrels among its members. Soon, the group totally loses control and falls into a frenzy of self-destruction, ultra-violence and paranoia.

CHINESE TORTURE CHAMBER STORY 2

Chinese Torture Chamber Story 2 is a 1998 Hong Kong drama|adventure film directed by Kin-Nam Cho, and starring Mark Cheng, Wai Lam, and Yolinda Yam.

While taking a bath in the river, Ma Sun Yee realizes he’s being robbed by the Wong Chung and Cheung Man Cheong, two local inept thieves. However, convinced by Ma's compassion for their predicament, Wong and Cheung invite him into their house. There, he meets Wong's sister, and Cheung's future wife, Lotus. Ma immediately falls in love with the girl; but nobody suspects that he bears a dark secret. Nevertheless, the three men pledge an alliance. Later, all of a sudden, Ma turns into a very changed man as he becomes governor. With Lotus in his mind, he takes the brothers in arms, setting up a scheme to get rid of his attackers and ultimately fulfill his own deviant sexual ambitions.

A CHINESE TORTURE CHAMBER STORY

A Chinese Torture Chamber Story is a 1994 Hong Kong drama|black comedy film directed by Bosco Lam, and starring Julie Lee, Siu-Kei Lee, and Yvonne Yung Hung.

A young woman is hired to work for a rich guy as one of his many servants. The master's wife immediately becomes jealous of the new girl due to her man constantly looking at her mainly because of her tiny feet. The wife then decides to murder the servant's future husband and blame it on her own husband and the new servant-girl. Once caught, both the master and the young girl become the victims of terrible tortures applied by the tribunal in charge of the case.

MUZAN E

Muzan E is a 1999 Japanese horror|splatter film directed by Daisuke Yamanouchi, and starring Yuki Emoto, Naohi Hirakawa, and Ken'ichi Kanbe.

A Japanese reporter investigating some very bizarre, underground hardcore porn films comes across the existence of a snuff film. As she starts investigating, she begins to interview some people involved in the porn industry but eventually, the makers of the snuff film get really mad at her. When she gets really close to finding the responsible of the snuff film, they decide it's about time to take actions against her.

EMBALMING

Embalming (a.k.a. EM Embalming) is a 1999 Japanese thriller|drama film directed by Shinji Aoyama, and starring Kojiro Hongo, Masatoshi Matsuo, and Yutaka Matsushige.

Miyako, a very well-known embalmer, is requested to embalm the body of a very wealthy young man who has recently passed away. However, since the very first moment Miyako begins her job, weird things begin to happen including the strange intervention of a shady Buddhist priest. But everything worsens the moment the head of the corpse goes missing; everything seems to point at the ex-girlfriend of the deceased boy as the only suspect. Miyako then decides to join inspector Kurume to try and find the missing head and finish what she started.
