APARTMENT 1303

Apartment 1303 is a 2007 Japanese horror film co-written and directed by Ataru Oikawa and starring Noriko Nakagoshi.

While celebrating with her friends her moving into a new apartment Sayaka unexpectedly jumps off the balcony and falls to her death. Her older sister, Mariko, decides to investigate the mysterious death of her sister, right after she finds out that there have been many more apparent suicides of young women who were living in the same apartment, 1303. After she meets detective Sakurai, Mariko discovers in a book he shows her about the tragic story of the Yukiyo, a previous tenant, and her mother who might be directly related to the suicides in the apartment. It will be then up to Mariko to unveil the violent story of apartment 1303 and its inhabitants.

STRANGE CIRCUS

Strange Circus is a 2005 Japanese thriller directed by Sion Sono, and starring Masumi Miyazaki, Rie Kuwana, Mai Takahashi, and Hiroshi Ohguchi.

Being still a young 12 year old teenager, Mitsuko is raped by her dad right after she sees her parents having sex. Her depraved dad then makes her mom, Sayuri, witnesses how her daughter is raped by her own dad. Gozo, Mitsuko's father, rapes both of them constantly as he pleases. Such is the plot to an erotic novel novelist Taeko, a wheelchair-bounded woman, sets on to write. But as she writes, her assistant, Yuji, is actually on a mission to discover the reality of such a gruesome story, and its relationship with Taeko's own past. But Yuji's main motivation is to find out what her boss hides in the locked room in her apartment. But what truly lies beneath the nightmare-like world created by Taeko is a yet more twisted story than ever imagined which might by too much for Yuji to bear.

ISOLA: MULTIPLE PERSONALITY GIRL

Isola: Multiple Personality Girl (a.k.a. Isola: Persona 13) is a 2000 Japanese psychological thriller directed by Toshiyuki Mizutani and starring Yoshino Kimura, Ken Ishiguro, and Yû Kurosawa.

When Yukari, a psychic with the ability to hear other people's thoughts, comes to help the survivors of the 1995 earthquake in Kobe, she meets a girl named Chihiro who has Multiple Personality Disorder. Since the very moment the two girls meet, Yukari starts feeling a certain affinity with Chihiro as she thinks both of them are alienated because of their uncommon qualities. When Yukari discovers that one of Chihiro's 13 different personalities is a vengeful ghost named Isola, she decides to help Chihiro get rid of Isola's spirit. The psychic will try to find a way to help her friend without killing her in the trying.

JOYU-REI

Joyû-rei (a.k.a. Don't Look Up) is a 1996 Japanese horror film directed by Hideo Nakata and starring Yurei Yanagi, Yasuyo Shirashima, and Kei Ishibashi.

While rehearsing for a forthcoming film, a group of actors and the director start seeing weird things happening around them, and it seems that the set they are filming in is haunted. Later on, after the dead of one of the main actresses, the director starts investigating and realizes that both the set and his own film are being haunted by the spirit of an actress who died during the filming of a tv show in the early 70's. Then, the director will have to decide whether to finish or not his film in such an eerie environment before his whole crew end up dead.

SHIKOKU

Shikoku (a.k.a. Land Of The Dead) is a 1999 Japanese thriller directed by Shunichi Nagasaki and starring Yui Natsukawa, Michitaka Tsutsui, and Chiaki Kuriyama.

Hinako was very young when she was separated from her two best friends, Fumiya and Sayori. She moved with her parents to Tokyo, but now some years later, Hinako is back to her hometown known as Shikoku. Soon after she arrives, she learns that Sayori died several years ago and that her mother, who used to perform rituals, has gone almost insane, and her father has been in a coma for eight years. Since the very moment Hinako is back, she starts seeing Sayori's ghost; after consulting with some locals she discovers that Sayori's mother has something planned for her daughter.

KAKASHI

Kakashi (a.k.a. Scarecrow) is a 2001 Japanese horror film directed by Norio Tsuruta, and starring Maho Nonami and Kou Shibasaki. The film is based on a Junji Ito's manga.

The movie tells the story of Kaoru who after reading a note left to her brother from his girlfriend, decides to go searching for him. Her search leads Kaouru to a remote lonesome village. On her way to the village her car breaks down, and she has to spend the night with some villagers. The residents seem to be preparing for some sort of Scarecrow Festival. While, spending the night at the villager's house, Kaoru starts experiencing unsettling dreams, and weird things begin to happen around her. Later on, she will discover the real meaning behind the festival and she will have to decide whether to continue in the village or leave forever and forget about her brother.

WHITE LADY

White Lady is a 2006 Filipino horror film directed by Jeff Tan and starring Pauleen Luna, JC de Vera, and Angelica Panganiban.

The film's story centers on Pearl, a new student in the Arts Academy. Since the very first moment, Pearl starts being bullied by her new classmates; and besides that, for no reason, she seems to be haunted by the ghost of a white dressed lady. As the apparitions become more constant, the intrigued and determined Pearl decides to solve such mystery. She then discovers that there is an apparent connection between the legend of the White Lady and the story of Christina, a simple girl who supposedly suffered bullying too. From there on, Pearl feels a certain affinity towards Christina and starts investigating the real story behind her disappearance and her seemly weird connection with the White Lady.

TOMIE vs TOMIE

Tomie vs Tomie is a 2007 Japanese horror film written and directed by Tomohiro Kubo, and starring Yû Abiru as Tomie.

As the evil Tomie begins to copy herself, the newly reborn copies need the original Tomie’s blood to maintain their beautiful bodies before their skin starts to rot.
In this, the eighth installment in the Tomie series, two Tomies are struggling to survive as their bodies are suffering from some kind of disease. With the help of their men, both Tomies will finally meet and fight for the survival of the strongest.

TOMIE: REVENGE

Tomie: Revenge is a 2005 Japanese horror film written and directed by Ataru Oikawa, and starring Hisako Shirata, Minami Hinase, and Anri Ban as Tomie.

The story revolves around a young, female doctor named Kazue who, while driving around at night, accidentally runs into a naked girl. Right after a quick glance, the mysterious naked girl disappears into the woods. Doctor Kazue runs behing the girl and ends up at a weird looking building that seems to be abandoned. Inside, the doctor finds a seemly unconscious girl named Yukiko who she brings to a nearby clinic where she works.
A year later doctor Kazue is appraoch by a detective who is inquiring about the naked girl she said she saw a year before in the woods; the detective then tell doctor Kazue about Tomie and that they think Tomie and the naked girl might be somehow related. Soon after, Yukiko is kidnapped by a strange man who said she needs to meet Tomie; when doctor Kazue realizes Yukiko is missing, she decides to go after her and discover the real relationship among Tomie, Yukiko and the naked girl.

TOMIE: BEGINNING

Tomie: Beginning is a 2005 Japanese horror film directed by Ataru Oikawa (Tomie 1999) and starring Rio Matsumoto as Tomie, Asami Imajuku, and Kenji Mizuhashi.

This sixth installment in the Tomie film series is a prequel to the 1999 film. The film is based on Junji Ito's manga Tomie. The movie is basically the set of events that took place right before the first film. Tomie, appears at the beginning of the film as a new transfer student, as is common in her, she starts enchanting all the boys, and raising the wrath in all of the girls. Soon, Tomie becomes friends with Reiko, one of the girls in her class, who appears to be sympathetic to Tomie's alienation. As in the previous film, Tomie and her friend seem to share a lesbian-like relationship. It doesn't take too long until Tomie starts to show her typical charming powers over males, thus making them understand that the only way to get rid of their hex is to kill Tomie. Years later, at a class reunion, the eyed-patched guy that appears in the 1999 film Tomie will be introduced and everyone will know how it all began.

TOMIE: THE FINAL CHAPTER - FORBIDDEN FRUIT

Tomie: The Final Chapter - Forbidden Fruit is a 2002 Japanese horror film directed by Shun Nakahara, and starring Nozomi Ando and Aoi Miyazaki.

Tomie Hashimoto is a teenage school girl who finds refuge from her boring reality in her writing of horror stories in which she imagines herself as a vampire named Ann Bathory. Tomie is a lonely girl who keeps being picked on and bullied by four of her classmates. One day, she meets a beautiful girl named also Tomie; the strange girl has a mole under her left eye and becomes friends with Tomie immediately. Later on it becomes clear that the meeting of the two girls is not casual, and that Tomie Kawakami has some plans regarding Tomie Hashimoto and her father.

TOMIE: REBIRTH

Tomie: Rebirth is a 2001 Japanese horror film directed by Takashi Simizu, and starring Miki Sakai as Tomie, and Kumiko Endou as Hitomi. The movie is the fourth installment in the Tomie film series.

At the beginning of the movie, Hideo is seen painting his girlfriend Tomie, but she doesn't seem to like the painting and after an anger episode, she tries to destroy the painting; but Hideo manages to control her and he ends up killing her. When his two friends discover what happened, they help him bury the body. Later on, when the three friends are at a friend's party, Tomie mysteriously shows up, then Hideo is found dead in the bathroom with a knife in his neck.
Tomie then starts going out with one of Hideo's friends but after the young man appears to be losing his mind, his mother kills Tomie and both of them cut her up in a gruesome ecstasy. They also burn her head, which was already regenerating some sort of limbs for locomotion.
Soon after, as Tomie's portrait has some kind of blood-paint mix, it allows for Tomie to regenerate. Then Hitomi, one of Hideo's friends' girlfriend, becomes possessed by Tomie, in what looks like a rather viral spread. Later on, the two newly reborn Tomies will try to eliminate each other.

TOMIE: REPLAY

Tomie: Replay is a 2000 Japanese horror film directed by Tomijiro Mitsuishi, and starring Sakaya Yamaguchi and Mai Hosho as Tomie. Even though this is the third installment in the Tomie series, this is the actual first sequel to the 1999 movie Tomie.

The movie starts with a young girl having surgery due to an unusually distended stomach. When the doctors begin to operate, they find a severed head, Tomie, alive and growing inside the girl. The doctors then place the head inside a tank containing alkaline solution. Soon after, the hospital workers present during the operation mysteriously leave the hospital or disappear, including hospital director Morita. After finding her father's notes, Yumi Morita, discovers something weird written about the incident with Tomie's head that apparently drove the doctor insane. All that is written in the log looks normal until the last page, where the name Tomie is referred to several times. The last pages are apparently written in blood. As Yumi discovers the truth about Tomie, it seems clear that the only thing to do with such "monster" is to kill her.

TOMIE: ANOTHER FACE

Tomie: Another Face is a 1999 Japanese horror film directed by Toshiro Inomata and starring Runa Nagai as Tomie. The film is an unofficial sequel to the 1999 original film Tomie.

This second installment in the Tomie film series is split into three separate stories. The three parts being a different time in Tomie's life; first she is presented as a high school student, then as a young woman who after being stalked by a photographer falls for him, and finally, as a seemly more mature woman who is about to be married. In all three stories, Tomie is killed by the men who love her after they discover her unusual secret; nonetheless, she somehow manages to return to take her revenge, but it seems that this time, Tomie also manages to multiply herself.

TOMIE

Tomie is a 1999 Japanese horror film directed by Ataru Oikawa, and starring Miho Kanno and Mami Nakamura.

After suffering some kind of trauma in her past that has since been repressed by means of amnesia, Tsukiko is trying to heal her memories with the help of her doctor. By using hypnosis, the doctor has manage to make Tsukiko bring out some of her lost memories; however, one of the most recurrent events in the sessions is her repeating the name Tomie. Nonetheless, she is completely unable to remember how or where she knows that person from. At the same time, the police are investigating a series of gruesome murders that seem to be also connected to someone named Tomie. Later on, it is revealed that both Tsukiko and Tomie share a strange connection and only one of them will be able to come out alive.
