KAKASHI


Kakashi (a.k.a. Scarecrow) is a 2001 Japanese horror film directed by Norio Tsuruta, and starring Maho Nonami and Kou Shibasaki. The film is based on a Junji Ito's manga.

The movie tells the story of Kaoru who after reading a note left to her brother from his girlfriend, decides to go searching for him. Her search leads Kaouru to a remote lonesome village. On her way to the village her car breaks down, and she has to spend the night with some villagers. The residents seem to be preparing for some sort of Scarecrow Festival. While, spending the night at the villager's house, Kaoru starts experiencing unsettling dreams, and weird things begin to happen around her. Later on, she will discover the real meaning behind the festival and she will have to decide whether to continue in the village or leave forever and forget about her brother.
