RASEN

Rasen (a.k.a. Spiral) is a 1998 Japanese thriller directed by Jôji Iida and starring Miki Nakatani, Hinako Saeki, and Koichi Sato. The movie is the first sequel of the 1998 Ringu, and as it predecessor, it is based on Koji Suzuki's novel of the same name.

The movie starts when doctor Mitsuo Andou is called to perform the autopsy on his recently deceased friend, who die under strange circumstances. Soon after, doctor Andou comes into contact with the same cursed videotape that supposedly caused the death of his friend, his wife and son. He learns that his friend's wife was doing some research on the video which is seemly haunted by the curse of Sadako, a relentless spirit searching for revenge. After watching the tape, Andou starts experiencing strange things happening around him. Soon, he will discover that the tape's evil spirit has different plans in store for him and the ones around him, and that there are more ways in which the curse can continue passing on.
