RINGU

Ringu (a.k.a. Ring) is a 1998 Japanese horror film directed by Hideo Nakata, and starring Nanako Matsushima and Hiroyuki Sanada. The film is an adaptation of Koji Suzuki's novel of the same name.

Reiko is a reporter who, after the death of her young cousin Tomoko, starts interviewing people who have heard the story of a videotape that, supposedly, kills everyone who sees it exactly seven days after viewing it. At the beginning, it seems that everything is just rumors, but later she learns about Tomoko's friend who also watched the video with her and died at the exact same time. During her investigations, Reiko discovers the tape and decides to watch it, but soon after, strange things start happening as she receives a call telling her that she will die in an exact week too. As she tells Ryuji , her ex-husband, they decide to team up to try to stop the curse before their time is over.
