SCARY TRUE STORIES: TEN HAUNTING TALES FROM THE JAPANESE UNDERGROUND


Scary True Stories: Ten Haunting Tales From The Japanese Underground is a Japanese three-part TV/video series, which was broadcast between 1991 and 1992. Directed by Norio Tsuruta.

1. Scary True Stories (1991)

The Lonely Girl: The ghost of a student is rumored to be haunting around the swimming pool lockers.
Spiritual Flight: After the death of her beloved grandmother a young girl has an out-of-body experience, which takes her on a spiritual flight.
Mystery of the Red Earring: A young girl spots a shiny red earring on the ground and takes it home. The girl decides to talk to a priest that tells her that the earring belonged to a woman who committed suicide.

2. Scary True Stories: Night 2 (1991)

The Summer Gymnasium: A group of friends decide to test each other's courage by sneaking into the school gym that is rumored to be haunted.
House of Restless Spirits: A young family moves into their new house, which they soon realize might be haunted.
The Hospital at Midnight: Two young nurses on their night shift at the hospital, they tell each other about the strange things they've heard about. When they see an elderly man walk past, the nurses realize that he was a patient who passed away the day before. It's not long before they discover more strange going-ons.

3. More Scary True Stories: Realm Of Specters (1992)

Old Hag, Begone!!: A young girl learns the hard way whether an urban legend incantation works or not when needed.
My Friend at the Stairwell: The new girl in school finds out she can see and hear the ghost of a boy in the school's stairwell.
Paralysis: A young female experiences a truly bizarre night after a long phone chat with one of her friends.
The Black Hair at the Abandoned Building: Three young people enter a supposedly haunted building in search of real ghosts and discover that there's definitely something wrong in there.
