A WICKED GHOST II: THE FEAR

A Wicked Ghost II: The Fear is a 2000 Hong Kong horror film directed by Francis Nam and starring Ken Wong, Alice Chan, Angie Cheung, Yee-Man Man, and Joyce Chan. The film is a sequel to the 1999 A Wicked Ghost.

Right after policeman Cha-siu fails to arrest a rapist in an isolated alley, the suspect appears with his legs dismembered out of nowhere and his left arm and torso turn up in three separate locations near the area. Moments later, officer Cha-siu kills himself and dies with a creepy unexplained smile on his face. Inspector Li and his girlfriend Peanut decide to investigate the strange case that also arouses the curiosity of some reporters from the Moon Weekly magazine. Author Blue, a writer who happens to be collecting materials for her new novel, also takes part of the investigation as she finds it interesting right after giving a tape recorder to a young woman called Ada who has gone blind after watching a horror movie, and then experiencing a ghastly apparition. Both separate investigations on the mysterious cases come to a dead end when Balm, one of the reporters, jumps to his death after meeting the spirit of the dead rapist. Later on, Ada, the other reporter, stabs herself to death with a kitchen knife. After further investigations, Ada's tape recorder is found and the recording is played back at high speed; out of the background noise Blue and Master Li can barely hear someone saying the name of Peanut's grandmother who died 93 years ago and what might lead to the end of their nightmare.
