Noroi (a.k.a. The Curse) is a 2005 Japanese horror-mockumentary film co-written and directed by Kôji Shiraishi.
The movie tells the story of Masafumi Kobayashi, a TV journalist with a great fascination for documenting paranormal phenomena.
One day, Kobayashi receives a letter from a woman describing strange noises coming from her neighbor's house; soon, Kobayashi makes his first visit to the woman's house, but when he tries to talk to the woman's neighbor, she refuses and later on she moves out of the apartment. The neighbor who contacted Kobayashi dies in a mysterious accident later on.
Some time later, Kobayashi reaserches other supernatural events that seem to have no relation. However, as he gets more interested and involved in his investigation he finds out that all the strange events are connected to one another and that they all have to do with Kabutaba, a mysterious and evil entity.
