PHONE

Phone is a 2002 South Korean horror film directed by Ahn Byeong-ki and starring Ha Ji-Won and Kim Yu-Mi, and Choi Woo-je.

Ji-won, a young journalist, has been writing a series of articles about pedophilia, and has exposed an underage sex scandal. After the publication of her article she stars receiving a series of threatening calls on her cell-phone. To protect her from a possible offended reader, her close friends Ho-jung and her husband Chang-hoon invite her to move to their empty new house. When the young daughter of her friends Young-Su answers Ji-won's phone, the girl screams and completely changes her behavior, showing a growing attraction towards her dad and even rejecting her mother.
Meanwhile, Ji-won keeps receiving strange calls on her phone, and constantly listens to someone playing Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata on a piano. However, after investigating her phone number, Ji-won discovers that the former owner of that number has disappeared, and the next two owners have died in mysterious circumstances.
Ji-won's further investigation about the previous owner of the number reveals that the young woman was completely obsessed for an older man that had broken up with her. Soon, Ji-won unveils obscure and tragic secrets about the fate of Jin-hee (the young and disturbed girl), and a possible connection with her two close friends and their young daughter.
